“Nature is the greatest artist. If you want to photograph nature’s art, you have to see the art in nature.” 

Patterns, colors, textures, shapes, behavior, survival. I am fascinated by every aspect of nature and wildlife. Moments that fill my soul and sometimes, admittedly, break my heart—this is my art. Nature can be a very humbling and spiritual experience. From the grandest landscapes to the intimate details of a flower, and the behavior and daily struggle for survival of animal species in their increasingly threatened habitats. Nature and Wildlife photography speaks to my very soul. I hope that my images will speak to your spirit as well and inspire you to learn more about a location or about an threatened species. Perhaps an image will help you see beauty in the tiniest things right in front of our eyes but often overlooked. 

You don't always have to travel far to capture great images. I am lucky to live and work in North Carolina so many of my photographs are captured close to home from the coast with it's epic Outer Banks shoreline to the peaks and valleys of North Carolinas Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If you are vacationing at Emerald Isle or Atlantic Beach and looking for vacation activities, consider taking a photography class and tour to improve your photo skills. 

Albert Einstein said “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better”. I tend to agree.
